Ian Morgan

Clinical Director

I have been a GP in the Outer West of Newcastle since starting work in Newburn Surgery in 2019. The relationships between the six practices which make up our Primary Care Network have always been good, but they have gone from strength to strength over recent years and it’s great to see us working close together to employ new staff to increase the way we can help the local population. Health is about a lot more than seeing your GP when you’re not feeling your best, or your practice nurse for your Annual Check; it’s about having good relationships, adequate housing, being active and eating well.

The Outer West has sometimes felt a bit ‘distanced” from the rest of the city and services don’t always come out past the A1. We are seeking to change this by building relationships with the City Council and local voluntary sector groups and our local pharmacies. We are passionate about improving the lives of the 51,000 people who live in our area.
